Dear delegates, advisors, schools, and future diplomats,

 

Welcome to SONMUN 2025! It is an honour, and my pleasure, to serve you. SONMUN 2025 marks SON’s second historical conference, and I am pleased to inform you that we have built on last year’s success to bring to you an improved, profound conference experience we hope you take with you long after the conference has ended. SONMUN creates space for youth dialogue and impactful discussion in a region that is incredibly small. Our topics and ideas transcend local viewpoints and celebrate the diversity of the wider world around us. We hope our conference encourages our delegates to become community change-makers, empowered leaders, and, most of all, engaged global citizens.

We hope SONMUN 2025 will be one of your many Model UN conferences to come. Updates on delegate resources will be released soon, including support for beginner delegates, such as a pre-conference training session, topic guides written by your chairs, and a comprehensive Rules of Procedure tailored for delegates of all levels. Furthermore, we have the privilege of hosting a Guest Speaker each year, usually an expert in their field and someone working to make an impact — daily. We aim for this to raise awareness on local issues.
